CHURCHBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

The CHURCHBALL Championship is a premier tournament for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who love to play basketball. This inaugural tournament will take place July 2020, dates to be announced.

HIGH SCHOOL

DIVISIONS

ELITE H.S. DIVISION

Boys & Girls Teams

$650 per team

  • ANY TEAM WITH A CURRENT HIGH SCHOOL PLAYER ON THE TEAM MUST PLAY IN THE ELITE DIVISION

  • IF A PLAYER CURRENTLY PLAYED ON A HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL TEAM, THEY ARE A CURRENT HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL PLAYER

  • NO MORE THAN THREE (3) CURRENT HIGH SCHOOL PLAYERS PER TEAM IN THE ELITE DIVISION – NO EXCEPTIONS! WE. WILL. CHECK! TEAMS CAUGHT WITH MORE THAN THREE PLAYERS WILL BE KICKED OUT OF THE TOURNAMENT

JUNIOR/SENIOR - H.S. ELITE DIVISION TEAMS

  • Students entering their Senior OR Junior years of high school.

  • Team members may play on a varsity and/or jv high school team – Only three current h.s. players per team

FRESH/SOPH ELITE DIVISION TEAM

  • Students who are in their freshman or sophomore years of high school

  • Team members may play on a varsity, JV, or Freshman high school team – Only three h.s. players per team – no exceptions! We. Will. Check!

TOURNAMENT FORMATS

  • Game Guarantees

  • Six (6) Game Schedule

  • + Single Elimination Tournament

  • All games are: Two (2) 18:00 minute halves

  • Official referees for all games

VENUE LOCATIONS

  • Orem High School        

  • Timpanogos High School

  • Timpview High School      

  • Mountain View High School

TEAMS

Teams DO NOT have to be organized by ward or stake geographies. Team members can be invited to participate from whatever location they reside. Unlike, the Church Ward/Stake basketball tournament model, The CHURCHBALL Championship tournament is about the best collective team of members, not the best ward or stake team

  • JUNIOR/SENIOR - COMPETITIVE DIVISION TEAM – Students entering their Senior or Junior year of high school – No team member in this division can be a current high school Varsity, JV or Freshman players

  • FRESH/SOPH - COMPETITIVE DIVISION TEAM – Students entering their Freshman or Sophomore years of high school – No team in COMPETITIVE H.S. DIVISION can have current high school Varsity, JV or Freshman players per team

YOUTH DIVISION

BOYS & GIRLS TEAMS

  • 7th/8th Grade Division - Only players who are in the 7th or 8th grade can be in this division. No player can play up as a 6th grader.

  • 6th Grade Division – Only players who are currently in the 6th grade can play in this division. No 6th grade player can play up in any Youth Division.
